Reducing sediment loss from winter crops
Science report from November 2019.
Sediment in waterways can have major environmental impacts on fresh water quality, and is consequently becoming of greater concern to communities and regional councils as catchment planning moves into the hill country. Here we report on trial work undertaken to test the effectiveness of two different species of catch crops on sediment/nutrient runoff following cool season grazing of forage crops.
